| Vista Ultimate SP2 x64 Windows 7 Ultimate x64 TECHNET | Re: Dell Factory Image Restore It will restore it back to the state that you got the computer. If your computer has been severly infected and you copy files/programs say onto disk to replace back onto your restored image, you run the risk of reinfecting your restored computer but only if the copied items are infected in the first place. You might do thorough scans with a Antivirus program like Avast of something and maybe Malwarebytes, Superantispyware,Spybot SD. And if you have a Vista installation disk, you might try a repair install before a factory restore. Repair Install For Vista You might also try a system restore |

| Vista Home premium 32bit, SP2 | Re: Dell Factory Image Restore I did end up removing the Virus it was a Malautorun_2 and Malwarebytes removed it. It was about 1month ago and I thought everything was fine. Then last week Windows installed a the MRT tool and that took out two more, and that tool would run every bootup. I recoverd and then it started to crash and freeze. So I did a recovery again and now it seems fine. But I does freeze on the blue System shutting down screen and it is hanging up after I select my user profile. It is also not loading a few files. I tired the repair feature and it does not give me the option. |

| Vista Ultimate SP2 x64 Windows 7 Ultimate x64 TECHNET | Re: Dell Factory Image Restore Might have been both. If you're willing to do a factory restore then go for it. Just have a good Antivirus program actively monitoring all the time after you get your computer back in a clean state and do regular scans so it doesn't become infected again. |
