I had a problem after using a usb stick which resulted in music files not playing properly and a message that an error in relation to RPC (I think) had ocurred. Eventually I decided to re-instal Vista and having put the disc in things seemed to be going OK but them stopped and I thought it was simply doing a normal re-start but nothing happened.
When I restart with the Vista disc in it says under the heading :Windows Boot Manager:-
"Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem 1, Insert your Windows installation disc & restart your computer
2 ....... 3 Click 'Repair your computer
It then says If you do not have this disc, contact your sytem administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance followed by:-
File: \Boot\BCD
Status: 0xc000000f
Info : An error ocurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data
I can't get any further (It's Vista Home Premium 64bit software) and the comp manufacturer (acmw) has gone into liqidation.
Any assistance would be gratefully received
