Vista - all tablet tools have dissappeared

I was looking for the snipping tool but it was gone, so I went to turn windows features on/off and the box was checked for tablet features. So I unchecked it and rebooted, went back to turn on features and rechecked it and rebooted again. Still the folder for tablet tools including the snipping tool is empty.

Any idea where it has gone?

Dual core AMD
4 gigs of RAM
250 gig Seagate Hard drive

If you go to services.msc andset tablet Input service to automatic it should return to normal if it somehow became disabled. Also when the tablet PC is checked in windows features make sure everything else is checked under it and its not just a filled in square, but look at your services first via services.msc

it is auto and started. Still no snipper!

Ok, I would uncheck the Tablet Optional in the features list and restart. Then I would renable it, hopefully this will cause it to reinstall everything.

Windows Features

I did that, see orginal post. Unchecked, restarted, checked and restarted. still missing. really weird.

This link has the tablet tool software from xp. Download it and see if you can select the snipping tool installer only.

Make sure to also try it in compatibility mode

If the last sugested option works to no avail navigate to C:\Windows\System32
and see if SnippingTool.exe is in there, check carefully.

The first suggestion did not work, It refused to install.
But the second did. I found it, I wonder why it did not show up when I searched for it? I put a shortcut on my desktop.
