Why Does taskeng.exe try to access the internet?

Hi: have noted that taskeng.exe is trying to access the internet. From what I can tell i did not initiate the action. How can I tell what has initiated this action and why. I understand this is an important ms process that might be tapped by other apps and should not be disabled, but I want to know why it is asking to hit the internet. I authorize ms updates and don't allow ms index/searching on the internet. I allow some updates from my security and system manufacturer. Please advise. thanks. tom
