Notebook won't see external

Hey all,

I have a USB WD 1T external hard drive that was originally FAT32. I formatted it under NTFS and everything worked perfect and I was able to move files to it. But When I rebooted, the external is no longer visible in Windows Explorer. When I connect it via USB, my notebook (Acer Aspire 6920, Vista Home Premium) sees a usb peripheral connected, but shows no ID.

Any ideas?

Hit start and search for disk management. Go into that and see if it is listed there.

Ah. Alright, so obviously the drive is not being sensed by windows. Try this:

Restart and boot into BIOS. See if the Drive is listed there. This will tell us if it is sensed by the computer or not.

Yup, the drive is there in the BIOS when its the only external drive connected. But with another usb (250 gig) external drive connected, the drive in question isn't there. I'm not sure if the second external has anything to do with it.

Vista x64 should be able to see a 1T drive formatted under NTFS, correct?

It should. So since your computer can recognize this, we know the problem lies with Vista. If you unplug the second drive, will Vista see it?
