HELP!!stuck in safe mode and cant do anything.

hi, im having a crazy problem but i repaired my start up and did system backups and restores. i can still boot in advanced boot options. for some reason vista 32 home, keeps booting in safe mode and cant do anything in safe mode.
tried starting win normally and last known good configuration..still boots in safe mode.
i get no start menu in safe mode just black screen and said safe mode in corners. task manager will not come up either..i even tried to repair with the vista cd.
someone please help me...i feel stupid not knowing what to do:cry:
if you need more info ill give it to you. i tried every troubleshooting method i can think without reformatting.

thank you for replying so fast but in safe mode i can not do anything...i cant even log off anymore. i have no start button to get to run, and i can sometimes alt, ctrl, del but cant bring task manager or start new task.
i hope there is something eles like a button to start in normal.

I hate to say this, but it sounds like you may need to do a clean reinstall of Vista to fix this. :(

wish there was a tool i can use to fix it.
this problem is in a laptop, wish i can take it out and scan it and try to fix it cause i think there are files on there that needed to be saved.
looks like allot of people have this problem. i think it was caused from a virus.

Hi houng, if you post your specs of your computer may help.

Seems like you are stuck. It could be hardware problem. I would suggest you to reinstall Vista first with you OS disk. It will eliminate all conflicting programs, virus, and corrupted elements. If installation failed, then we start from there.

You can attempt to do a System Restore using a restore point dated before all of these problems to see if you can gain access to backup your files before.

yes i have and when i boot my win it comes up to login screen normal but when i login it gos to safe mode and a black screen safe mode again. still cant do anything.

You can try booting the system from the windows vista dvd and try system restore or startup repair from WIN RE.

yes, i tried method 2 too..like when i login its in safe mode with a black screen and the start menu dont work either. i tried using the vista dvd too. it just keep going in safe mode.

sorry let me correct myself..i cant even get to the method two part cause when i log in vista it gos straight to safe mode, with a blank screen. im not able to do anything.
its just black with safe mode in the corners, no start botton, no task bar or anything.
sorry wish i could get to msconfig. i have notice i can start safe mode with cmd prop. also i can get in cmd prop in advance boot options. thats all i can do. chkdsk works only in advance boot options but thats all i tried.
does that change anything that i can get in the cmd prop? im not for sure if there is a trick i can use from there.
sorry about the method two mix up..i could never make it that far to do it.

Check in the BIOS to make sure that you have the CD/DVD drive listed as first in the boot order. Next, make sure you have your Vista installation DVD in the drive and restart the computer and press a key when it says to "Press any key to boot from DVD" to enter METHOD TWO to do a System Restore with.

im able to do that method two of system restore, i tried it before. when i reboot when its done i get the same thing before. the safe mode black screen not able to do anything.

Hi houng,

If you can get to the command prompt, you may be able to copy off some of your files before you reinstall.

AT the prompt, type Notepad then press enter.

Notepad opens , click File , then Save - a window opens that allows you to browse your drives. You can right click files or folders and copy and paste to any attached lettered drives.

Houng, seems you have more problem then you think as I said before. Let's just hope an installation will take care of the problem and have your finger crossed.
