hey

Was just checking some information in my pc, and i noticed both of the Hard drives were quite hot, theres no problems with the fans or anything in there so im not sure if theres a problem or they just get like that.

The pc has been on for alot of the day and alot has been installed on it since they are new.

Is it a problem that they are getting quite hot?

Thanks

How hot? The maximum operating temperatures for hard drives is usually around 60 degrees Celsius.

Hey

Thanks for those helpful programs, ive just been looking on DiskInfo.

My hard drives are currently at 36 degrees and 33 degrees, diskinfo says this is all ok.

The only problem i have come across is on my c drive. It has a caution warning on diskinfo, saying it has a high reallocated sectors count. Im not sure why this is as the hard drive has only been used for a couple of days so far because its new.

This could possibly be something do with the sound it was making, seemed like a scraping noise, although only for a short time, and it works perfectly fine. So im not sure what the problem might be here.

Thanks

best thing to do in my opinion is go to start>Computer>right click c:\ & go to properties>tools tab>error checking (check now) & make sure both boxes are ticked & click start.

hould do a full check of all sectors for you

My massive wifi antenna is in the post!
I did actually do this to it earlier, but because its in use i set it to do it when i next started up, it checked the whole drive for along time, and didnt find any errors with it.

So im not sure what could be wrong with it. The noise i herd didnt sound too good though, even if it didnt last long. Kindof scraping/clicking.

Does anyone know why its giving the warning about the reallocated sectors count being too high even though its a brand new hard drive?

Thanks

I would suggest you check what brand of drive it is and find their diagnostic utility. It will warn you if your drive has any problems with it.
