General question...

Hey, i wonder if someone could explain this to me...I like using my DOS-Prompt because i find it much faster. Now in school or on someone else's computer when i launch it I'm automatically being accused of 'hacking'. Like what gives? I dont think people realise the DOS-Prompt can say access denied too. Does anyone know why its seen as a hacker thing rather than just an interface?

I just don't get it... I was almost banned from the school computer system for being on one like what the hell?

Re: General question...

They just didn't know DOS was the only interface before Apple came up with window interface and Bill Gate gets rich.

Re: General question...

The only thing I can think of is that the school may not like people to use DOS since it has the potential to bypass any of their policy settings set in the Windows GUI.

Well in school i have already removed all the group policy and make myself a member of the global administrators without the use of a command line so obviously there is more serious threats than a DOS-Prompt maybe if they would spend more time on that instead of trying to block an interface they wouldnt have to worry

Re: General question...

haha
For me DOS was always faster because I thought it was the internal browser of Windows though you'd need to be skilled reaching the kernel

Re: General question...

Perhaps you could just turn around and say "I'm not using DOS - that was an operating system popular in the 1980s".

CMD.EXE is a "command interpreter", not the "Disk Operating System"
