Solved Disappearing Windows

Going mad please help me!
About a week ago I was looking around at settings (getting to know my computer)and made a change to try it out, thinking if I didn't like it I could change it back. The change allowed me to look at several restored down windows back and forth simply by hovering the mouse overtop. That all works fine unless I have only one window open. As soon as the mouse moves off the page it disappears into the taskbar. It is difficult to get the window from the taskbar to the screen and get my mouse on it all at the same time to keep it there. It is crazy. I have looked though every setting on the Logitech/Setpoint download that came with my wireless mouse and can't find it there. I am not sure where else to look. I know that I changed something ?? somewhere?? in this laptop but I cannot find it. I'm using Vista Home Premium 32 bit that came with my HP Pavilion dv 9000 laptop.
I would so appreciate the help. :o

I have solved my problem!
First go to Control Panel. Open Ease of Access Centre. Then down to Make the mouse easier to use, and open. Then down to Make it easier to switch between windows. Then uncheck the box next to Activate a window by hovering over it with the mouse.
And Bob's your uncle. Perfect.
I have also learned a huge lesson!
Thanks everyone. :)
