Search protocol host problem

I just keep getting a message that tells me that the "search protocolhost" has stoped working and it was closed..
Now Im new here..can someone explain to me WTH is that and what is it for?

Help please the message keeps popping up!!!!

It is related to the Search Index in Vista-

The exception code indicated that the program is accessing unallocated memory

If you are using Outlook 2007- or running Office 2007 try running the Office diagnostic, or try re-installing. If you have been using registry cleaners you may have corruption.

1) Reset the index search In Administrative Tools | Services, Windows Search | Properties | General | Startup, type "Disabled" and stop the service if it's running
