| Vista x64 + Windows 7 x64 (Ultimate) | Re: How to ask for help I believe this post should be a sticky for all of the forums, this way people in need of help will read it and we could give or receive a prompt and better answer. So far, I only see it stickied here and not everyone post in the General Section. Sorry if I seem intrusive... just trying to help |

| Vista Home Basic | Re: How to ask for help Thank you. I will try to be precise. However, I have noticed that sometimes the replies are incomprehensible to a non-techie For example, what is sticky IMHO? and how should I have replied to your interlocutor? |

| Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 | Re: How to ask for help Since this is a tech forum, there is some expectation to have a basic understanding of computers. While I agree that not all replies are "comprehensible", we have many different people here from different parts of the world with varying vocabularies and sometimes things get lost in translation. For the most part however, things are pretty much straight forward if you have a basic understanding of computers. As to how you should reply to my interlocutor? Well….you tell me. interlocutor - somebody discussing: a participant in a discussion or conversation (formal) Peace |

| Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 | Re: How to ask for help Hello janana44, First off, to get the help you desire, it would be better if you posted this question in it's own thread under General Forums. Perhaps you could title it something like "Carbonite files won't convert after Vista upgrade" In this case posting your problem here may not get answered because this post is about giving tips on asking for help. P.S. I myself am unable to help you with this particular problem as I do not use Carbonite... but someone should be able to help once your problem is posted in it's own thread. Sorry Good luck |

So far, I only see it stickied here and not everyone post in the General Section. Sorry if I seem intrusive... just trying to help I think the reality is that some people asking for help are not very "computer" aware & thus are confused & flustered by the "glitch" confronting them. This leads to a less than satisfactory detail of the problem encountered when seeking help in their new thread. |
