Hello everyone...new member here:
I'm an XP user trying to help a friend with a Vista problem. Someone else tried to help him get access to "Hidden Files" and apparently managed to kill access to his name in "Users". I have no experience with Vista, but at this point we have almost everything back except one program: Microsoft Flight Simulator. The guy has this installed on his (E:\) drive (in Program Files/Microsoft Games)...no matter what we do, it shows "Access Denied" when he tries to open it. I even had him copy/paste the entire Flight Simulator 9 folder over to (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games), but the same thing happens: "Access Denied". So apparently the attributes (or some kind of security) for just that program are preventing access, but in talking him throught it as best I can, we can't seem to find what's doing it.
Any ideas how to fix this? As of VERY late last night, I told him to just re-install the whole program, and haven't heard back from him yet. If anyone can help with this, please keep in mind that I have ZERO experience with Vista, so please be very basic.
Thanks in advance,
Garry
