XPS Document Writer help

I'm trying to convert a custom-sized InDesign file to .XPS. When I choose the XPS Document Writer, it gives me the option of choosing a paper size. I choose A3 and the document preview showed it fit. But when I actually print the document, it creates a letter-sized .XPS. I've changed the specifications for the XPS Document writer to print to A3, but it still won't print a copy of the entire original document. I got it to work once before weeks ago, but now I can't remember how.

Can anyone help?

Hello rldowd, and welcome to the vista forums

Have just created an A3 illustrator file and also printed this page to test, Everything appears to be working . one thing I had to do was on both occasions, to go into the advanced properties in the print driver and set the page size

Hope that helps.

Thanks for responding. I did select A3 in the printer drivers, but it still reverts it back to letter size when it prints. It's pretty frustrating.

Do you think you could detail the steps you took to get the XPS file to be as large as your original illustrator document? I've just tried it again, twice, selecting A3 as my paper and still I get a letter-sized page. I tried to attach the test XPS to this post but it won't recognize XPS files. My kingdom for a PDF. ;)

Hi
simply went into Illustrator created file at A3 size and hit print - in print dialogue selected XPS printer and clicked Properties button to right of printer name then advanced for paper size.

If you are looking for PDF output you could do worse than this ....

CutePDF - Create PDF for free, Free PDF Utilities, Save PDF Forms, Edit PDF easily.

The freeware version is what I've used for a while now - Works on XP, Vista, even Windows 7 both x86 or x64 ;)
