    New i7 Build

Case - Cooler Master Sileo 500

    PSU - Cooler Masgter UCP 700 W

    MB - Asus P6T Deluxe V2

    CPU - Intel i7 920

    Memory - 12 GB OCZ Platinum PC12800 1600HMz tri Channel DDR3 6-2GB

Video Card - Diamond Radeon HD 3650 512MB

    2 - Q-See 4 Channel DVR PCI Cards

    16x DVD-ROM

    HD - 4 - Seagate Barracuda 1.5TB SATA Drives

CPU Cooler - Cooler Master V8

Drive Coolers - Ultra ULT40010 - one for each hard Drive

I plan on using this as an exta machine for my backups and as a DVR for a security camera system.

I am limited on space, thats why I picked the smaller case.

    Any suggestions....

I'd stick with the 920.. it works GREAT with the P6T.. and can clock like a beast with the V8 cooling it.

Also yes 12GB is a lot of memory. but I think he's adding all that because he'll be streaming a lot of video content on that system from his security system.

    Re: New i7 Build

    Well I went shopping today.

Bought some parts. Ended up changing a few things.

Got a Thermaltake M9 Case, they didn't have the other one instock.

Also, got the ASUS P6T instead, the Deluxe V2 didn't have the right setup for the additional cards I needed to add.

I bought a Retail i& 920 CPU, so it came with a fan, I will try it for now. I don't plan on OC the CPU.

I have already taken the Case apart and drilled some extra holes for some better cable management. Also adding an extra fan in the front. Need to make brackets to hold the two 120mm front fans, since I am loosing the hard drive bracket and mounting the drives in the 5 1/4" drive bays with fans in front.

Also, just dropped the case off to have the inside sprayed black. I am not very good at working with spray paint, so I am having a friend do it.

I will post pictures once I get the case back and get started on the assembly.

    Here are the pictures.

I ended up having to go with Vista x32, the DVR video cards would not run with the x64. I ended up taking half the memory out.

Trying to see how stable the system is now. Hopefuly all goes well.
