Licensing

I have some questions, for which I haven't found answer in Microsoft FAQ's:

Firstly, according to this thread I would like to ask, if all those information are also true about Vista Home Basic? Can I do my development commercial work with this system?

Another question:

So does that mean, that if I use my system, then no one in my home is allowed to use it?
It would not be fair... Aren't my children allowed to play computer games?

I would like to ask one more question about licensing:
Can I use Windows XP from MSDNAA at Virtual Machine?

Thanks for answering.
Peter

The licensing terms refer to the number of machines that a single copy of Vista can be installed on and be activated by the same product key - in the majority of cases, this will be ONE, except for the Enterprise Version which has a different licensing arrangement and is aimed at commercial businesses. It has NO bearing whatsoever on the number of users you allow on your machine.

Re: Licensing

Hello Peter, and welcome to Vista Forums.

The license allows you to use that product key number to activate only on one computer at a time (not on multiple computers at the same time) for that particular edition of Vista. You can have as many people access your computer as you like, or create as many user accounts on your computer as you like. Plus, you can use it for personal and/or commercial purposes if you like.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
