Mouse Problem

I have an old USB mouse that I got from my mom's bf for use on my laptop, but every so often, whenever I plug it in, it doesn't respond; this usually happens when I unplug it for a long period of time. I don't know why it's doing this but it's pretty dang annoying. Btw, it's a Targus AMU18US retractable mouse.

Help me out here?

Re: Mouse Problem

When you initially plug in, does your new hardware wizard start up? You should be able to see it pop up in your toolbar. Let me know if that happens. If not, it might be a problem with the actual communication between the mouse and the computer because you’re saying that it does work “sometimes.”

Re: Mouse Problem

To answer your question, no. It just didn't respond at all when plugged in. Luckily, I found a new mouse that actually works better... but is smaller. Oh well.

Re: Mouse Problem

So, it's a baby mouse? Glad you found a workaround here. Happy computing!
