my laptop has 1 hard drive that is partitioned in 2 c drive works fine e drive was stopping me from deleting anything from it tried everything so last resort format it so windows started formatting just about to finish and it failed now it wont let me format it and when i went in to computer management it says it is a healthy primary partition drive but the file system is raw how can i get this back to ntfs

yes it is but i thought you said you were trying to format e , sometimes thats where they store your recovery data if you need to reformat , you really dont want to format that partition

it was a last straw nothing was working on it i tried everything to delete things from it and i was told on another forum to format it what i wish i had not done now went to use my system recovery disk but that is not working did not get a vista disc with the laptop just installed with key on underside of the laptop is

why is your system recovery disc not working? does nothing happen when you reboot with it in the drive?
