Hello. I have Windows Vista 64 bit. All of a sudden my computer is shutting down and leaving me with a blank screen. It happens even if I am not on it. I have to reboot by turning the tower off and going into F8. Sometimes it twlls me one of my discs needs to be checked for consisitancy, and I fix it. The nest day...same thing, and I have to F8 and fix something else. I checked out all my programs and files, everything is OK. I have had this system for four months. Do I need to get a new computer or is it worth fixing. It is under warrenty.

Thanks Gary, but it doesn't work with Vista 64 bit. Right now I am running on Safe Mode.

Not sure what you mean by it doesn't work with x64. If SFC wouldn't run, be sure you are at an elevated cmd. prompt.
If those didn't help the problem, then you may have to do a repair install. http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-vista.html. You may need to borrow a disk from a friend or see if Gateway will send you one. I don't know what Gateway includes with their comps.
If none of the above works, then I would call Gateway and have them fix it. If you send it back for repairs, be sure you've backed up all your stuff as they are likely to format you HDD.
