Ive looked at all the other similar messages in the forums and none seem to help me. I turned off my computer yesterday then turned it on again and switched it off again using the power switch repeatedly yesterday in a span of a few mins. I then went out for a day and when i came back home and tried to boot my computer again vista wouldnt load the login screen. I changed my loading screen and it gets past that alright but when it gets to the logon screen everything just turns black?

I dont want to do that because ill lose a lot of my data and i never backed up after a few months ago so all the work and other stuff will be gone
i took a pic of the screen so i could read the error report:
STOP:COOOO21 { FATAL SYSTEM ERROR }
The initial session process or system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0X00000000 ( 0xC0000001 0x00100450 )

You won't lose your files on your machine with system restore.

NOTE: Do a system restore not to be confused with system recovery. System recovery will cause you to lose your data. However at the begining of bootup on my system I believe I have to tap F11 key repeatedly to access the system recovery page and on that page I click advance options to get to system restore option. Don't be reluctent to explore the the system recovery menu. If you are about to lose your files you will get warned that that will happen if you continue. Also you might can access startup repair from that screen also. I would try startup repair first anyway. I hope this works. I believe it will.
