This may sound stupid but, check in your system that it is 64-bit not 32-bit just to be sure.

Okay so I found the folder, but I had to go to folder options and check view hidden folders as well as uncheck hide protected operating system files..

Now I have read all over the internet that Vista does that if an attempt of a virus happen or if a virus is present.. I scanned my computer and there is no viruses..

I have tried the command prompt using the attrib command and I got it to be unhidden and normal again, but once I restart the computer it hides it again.. How would I go on about making Vista stop treating it as a protected operating system files because before it did not and I was able to view once I was in the C drive along with the Program Files folder???

You could try a system restore to a point before the problem.

You may also like to try xyplorer free - handy app.that can show/change attributes amongst other things - useful for the future

I do not have an up to date restore I can do, I would lose to much; thanks for the program info..

Does anyone else know how I can make Vista stop treating Program Files (x86) like a baby lol?? Isnt there a registry I can edit or something?

From the screenshot, none of the hidden files is showing (Boot, the Junction Point to Documents and Settings, Program Data, etc) - so this appears to be an issue with the hidden setting (the one in post #2)

But, you can adjust the setting by locating the folder and setting it there - so I'd suspect that there's a corruption of the routines that run through Windows Explorer.

I'd agree that a malware scan is the first order of business here. Then, if all's clean, I'd suggest running SFC.EXE /SCANNOW from an elevated Command Prompt. To do this, go to Start and type in "cmd" (without the quotes) - then right click on the CMD.EXE at the top of the search box and select "Run as administrator". Finally, type the above command ( SFC.EXE /SCANNOW ) into the black window, press Enter and wait for it to complete.

Let us know what it says when it finishes.

Well actually I was not showing the hidden files or such at that moment.. So they do show up when I enable it; I am running what you said though and will give you the results here in a lil..
