Solved Problem With Autoplay Option !!!

Dear Friends,

I need help with this. Is it possible for me to disable the autoplay option for my usb drives/thumb drives alone?? I need the option of autoplay for my optical drives but i want to disable the same option for my usb drives to avoid viruses..

yes when it pops up you should be able to highlight "Take No Action" and check the box that says something like do this always.

Here are two .reg files.
One disables pen drive autoplay, the other re-enables it.
It is a per-user configuration.
Double click on the .reg file and choose "Yes".

Sorry sir but the "take no action" option is not available in windows vista...

it is in my copies of vista. so it should be there in yours.

In Vista, if you go to the Autoplay section in the Control Panel, you can set your autoplay preferences for all different types of media: DVDs, CDs, video, audio, Blue Ray, software, games, pictures, etc.
