Help with a raid 1 issue

Hello,

My problem is this:

My XP Pro OS (SP3) no longer recognizes my raid1 drive.

In the disk manager, it shows it as a foreign disk.

When I right click to reactive, the disk window wants to change it to simple. I said okay, but it bounces back saying no can do.

I need to be able to access this drive from both OS's, How do I fix it? (This is my first time with dual booting.) So I'm a newbie I really could use some help, please?

Background: I have been running my XP pro for years on this Hard disk with a raid 0 no problems.

I just set up a dual booting system by adding Vista 64 on a separate hard drive.

I change the raid from a raid 0 to a raid 1 using new drives before loading Vista.( Raid drivers were already loaded and working on XP) I loaded the Intel raid matrix storage driver(64bits) on Vista during install.

All drives are available on Vista and working normally, but now the raid 1 drives (two 1TB drive mirrored) are no longer recognized by XP.

System:
Asus P5B deluxe
Cpu intel E8400
4gigs ram
XP Pro SP3 and Vista Ultimate 64 SP2 each on 250gb seagate hard drives.
Boot manager is working fine.

Hi and welcome to Vista Forums.

You used software raid, didn't you?

Maybe Vista software raid is not compatible with XP

Thank you for your reply. I use the Raid software that came from Intel, that is included with my Asus motherboard, just updated to newest version. The driver were F6fpy6488.
When I boot to XP I get the little icon down in the tool bar saying "Data protection activated. Your system's data protection is active and in normal state." I get this same window in Vista on start up.
When I try to active the foreign disk it gives a error message " check my system event log." INTERNAL Error - A disk group with the specified name already exists (C100007A).

Any Ideas?
