Problem would take to long to explain in title. Need Help.

I need help

New Member
Alright, I have a very interesting problem, and I need help (See username) Now I'm running Vista Home Premium 32bit and I recently tried to Download Age of Mythology. I did, but when I downloaded the expansion it asked me to restart, and when it restarted my computer would have a black backround and I couldn't see any thing else. Now, I could see the Log in screen and the window for Task Manager. So I used System Restore when it rebooted, and now I have my computer up, but whenever I try to reinstall Age of Mythology or get into my Firewalls (thought that was the problem) or even try to restore my system again, that particular program stops responding, I exit, then everything but the backround disappears and it comes back just like it restarted. Also, Windows Live Onecare stops working randomly. I restart my computer, it works, then after around 10 or so minutes it stops working again.

Sorry for the run-on but I'd really just like this problem to be fixed.

Hi, does it happen only with this game or it happens with all the games? Did you check the game system requirements if its compatible with your computer?
Also, please update your computer details (hardware) so that we can have a better look at your problem.

It only happens with this game and as far as I can tell with the other applications. The game had been running, but I rebooted my computer and thats when everything went to hell. Also, can't help you much on the OS other than what I have.

If you really can't live without this game, all i can say is do a Clean Install of Vista and then install this game.

I would uninstall the game and then reinstall. It sounds as if the game has had a bodged install.

OK, two things come to my mind- graphics card problem or when you said you installed the expansion- don't you need the game first? I have The Sims 2 and I couldn't install Open for Business, Bon Voyage, or Apartment Life before I installed the game.

Good luck!!!
BTW, try to find out which graphics card you have. Hopefully you will find something.

Sounds more like "Obsolete Drivers" to me, I would bet the audio, video and monitor drivers are as old as the pc is. Update your drivers and you should be able to play the game, unless of course, your specs don't meet the minimun requirements for the game.
