Combo RAID1 and standard Drive setup problem - Unallocated Drive

Hi everyone,

Putting together my new system:
core i7 920, Gigabyte EX58-UD4P, MSI R4850, Patriot DDR3 3x2GB PC3-12800,

Its my first home build, fortunately after putting everything together it boots up appropriately on first try into Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit.

My hard drives are WD1001FALS x2 (RAID 1 storage) and WD6400AAKS x1 (non-RAID Main drive)

My computer sees the main drive (assigned automatically as C:\) and the storage drive in the Disk Manager, however only the main drive (C:\) where Vista is installed is "allocated". The RAID storage drives are recognized and listed but are "unallocated". What do I need to do next to make this setup useable? The only thing I can see in Disk management is to "make a new simple drive" but then the warning says this is only for a SINGLE drive. Is this the option I want to make things work even though it's 1 logical drive made of 2 physical drives? Is there a hidden format button? do I need to format the discs to get them allocated.

I never get an option to "format" I will attach 2 pictures of my screen. Each picture shows which part of the disk management was right clicked (see mouse pointer) and I get 2 different kinds of submenus. Neither of them offer the opportunity to format. Any thoughts?

Thank you kindly to the Gurus of windows
