Solved Windows boot manager

Hi there,
Recently I had problems with my windows vista so i made a new one but now everytime i turn my laptop on, the windows boot manager comes up with two options, Microsoft windows vista or Microsoft Windows vista. The first one is the old one which doesnt work so everytime i turn my laptop on i have to press down to highlight the new vista option. Does anyone know how i can get rid off this boot manager so my laptop loads straight up to the new vista option.

If anyone could help that would be great.

Click on the start orb.
In search enter msconfig
Click on the boot tab
You will see two copie of Microsoft Windows Vista, Delete the one that does no longer exist or take a screen shot and I will tell you which one that requires deletion.

Thanks for your help. After clicking on the boot tab the following comes up.


Microsoft Windows Vista (D:/Windows) : Default OS
Microsoft Windows Vista (C:/Windows) : Current OS

(The slashes in the brackets are the other way round)

Also, the top one doesnt let me set it as default as it is already named default, lol. but the bottom one would let me. Does this mean the top one is the default with which i originally had or the one i am using at the moment?

Go back into msconfig.
Select the top item from the list. D:/
Delete it.

You know that you are using the C:/ because it is your current os you are using.
