"An unspecified error occurred during system restore"... several times in fact...

Ok so suddenly for no reason my computers starts acting unresponsive with numerous applications. Now I do what every good little Vista user does and tries to do a system restore. Now unfortunately system restore doesn't want to work  ! I've tried this about 3 times so far with the same message, "An unspecified error occurred during system restore."

Help?

Hello PaC,

Try putting the applications to run as 'Computer Administrator'. Hope this helps!

You could try going into Safe Mode and see if you are able system restore from there.

Thanks! that actually worked. Except that now it wants me to insert a 'Status' disk. And I have no idea what that might be. Help?

Have you got an HP printer attached?

Try inserting the hp disk, if you have one - or the Vista install disk and click OK.
