cant repair, restore, no sfc scan,

My laptop will not boot up normally. I am currently using a boot disk i copied online, as my PC came with Vista preloaded. I cannot start up repair, it say "cannot repair this computer" , nor can I restore "no restore points" It wont allow me to restore from a back up as it was done on a external hard drive and it does not detect it. I have tried running sfc/scannow and that does not work either.

The only thing i can do is go into my dos prompt

Please help, like everyone else here I guess, I am desperate.

Did you try pressing F10 repeatedly after starting up the machine to see if you can get to the Sony recovery centre?
