When I turned on my Vista Home Premium 64 bit computer this morning it automatically downloaded (4) new windows updates. In the center of my screen there is a sign that pops up that states. (Restarting your computer is required) (The computer must be restarted before updating can continue. Would you like to restart now? YES OR NO.) I pushed YES and it restarted with the same sign. Every single time I restart my computer the same sign pops up. I tried system restore and it did not work. Could you please tell me how I can delete this sign for good. I would appreciate it.

Hello whatsupdoc,

There are a couple of things you could try.
Download and run CCleaner, it's a free registry cleaner. (backup your registry when prompted). Link below.

CCleaner - Download

If that fails to fix the problem, then try this startup repair.

Startup Repair: frequently asked questions - Windows Vista Help

When you say you tried system restore, did the restore work and not cure the problem or could you not get restore to work ?.

Good luck and post your results.
