After My brother played the sims 3, it started to look like that all of a sudden......how can I change it back to look like how it has to be? I want it to have the light blue highlight again. I don't like the XP blue.

I'm using Home Premium so I don't have Properties.....Just Personlize

This happens in most Desktop icons when I right click on them......it looks normal on about just 4 of them

If I go to Scan Now it looks like Vista but when it doesn't have the arrow on the right it looks like XP.....How can I fix this?

OK what do I do under Personlize? I tried changing Theme, Display Settings & Window Color and Appearance bu nothing works for me. Does the Sims 3 have something to do with this change?

I tried that too and nothing works.....I even uninstalled The Sims 3 and it still looks like that. Am I going to need to do a system recovery? Or does this have to do with the registry of the sims game? I also forgot to mention that I used regedit to change the language of the game. Is that what maybe effected it? Your help would be very awsome!

If all else fails, you can try a system restore.

You shouldn't, and it's just putting the pc settings to a previous date, it's not a recovery but a restore.

Right click My Computer, click on advanced system settings.
Select the Advanced Tab under performance click settings
select the ajust for best performance radio button. OK and close it out.
This will reset all settings to old window style.
Now right click your Desktop and open the Theme Page in the pulldown box select Windows Vista and apply. Now you are set up to basic Vista settings but are able to add features under the performance window you used earlier.
If that does not reset your settings I sugest that one of your programs has taken exclusive control of your settings and is preventing you from changeing them.
PS: Under Desktop Backround on the verry bottem of the page is the "How should the Picture be Positioned" selection. You should have the first one selected.

PS PS: Do it in that order!
Good Luck

Well I did what you said but still didn't work. I think a program isn't letting me change my settings. There's another problem, when I did what you told me to do, I can't choose Vista Aero anymore. How can I change it back to look like Vista Aero again?

OK I fixed the Aero problem......which one is the one for the right-click drop down menu?

Can I delete gemes from my registry? Because I added some when my friend installed some games on my computer.
