After 2 Clean re-installs vista still won boot to normal mode but will boot to safe M

Re: After 2 Clean re-installs vista still won boot to normal mode but will boot to sa

at what point exactly does the pc fail to boot? loading bars? does it bluescreen? reboot? we need much more info to help :)

there is a way to turn off the loading bars so we can see whats going on behind if thats the case , then you can let us know exactly whats written on screen when it cr@ps out this may help us determine which driver is loading and causing the crash

click start / all programs / then acessories and select run

type msconfig and hit return

click the BOOT tab

check the "os boot information" box

check "make all boot setting permanant" hit apply then ok

obviously you can do this in safe mode :)

then boot into windows and watch , take a pic if you have too

Re: After 2 Clean re-installs vista still won boot to normal mode but will boot to sa

we found out the problem, the memory had some errors that came up in diagnostics, so I will bring the laptop in and have them replace it, its still under warrenty and I have extracted all the data, but just if your curious.

The screen immediately goes to the start to safe mode screen, where you can chose the 3 options for safe mode.
If I try t start in normal mode you get all the way to the log in screen. After logging in you pause at a black screen and have a cursor you can move but it stays stuck at that screen with no options to do anything.

Each time i do a clean I do a wipe and re-install, the computer works for about a week or 2 then runs into the same problems, and by fine i mean is a crappy dell laptop, the most basic model.

If you have any ideas, but we are pretty sure its the memory.
