thanks :) im alittle confused though , i know that vista anti lag stops all lag spikes , it seems though that he still gets the odd one so uses wlan optimiser too?

Just a very small update.. For grins, I decided to add the little WLAN Optimizer program in addition to my update above and it seems to add a little bit more "effectiveness" on my heavy wireless gaming usage. Another small program called Ping Tester, really helps me see the "smaller spikes". It can be ran on a continual loop and comes in very handy when checking your response times (in milliseconds). If you google WLAN Optimizer and Ping Tester, you should easily be able to find those little programs.. I've included a few screen shots below:

why not JUST run WLAN optimiser or VAL? , they work , i know they do , it seems a waste of time trying his workaround if its not 100% "effective" and ending ip running a 3rd party app anyway

ill give it a go tomorrow see how it works out

i tried running the antilag program and majority of the spikes went away but i styll get some which cause me to lag in games. I will try the optamizer and see which one works better.

The name of the the connection is actually dlink but when i put that it says no such wlan exists so when i put the wireless connection (written besdie dlink in netwrk sharing centre) it gives me something buh there is that syntax error ...

My Computer

use:

netsh wlan show all

This will show all WLAN connections so you can get the correct name. I don't have wireless here, so I can't give a better example. If you can't locate the name from that, post a screenshot of the output so we can find the name.
