Hello Antihiatus,

What color scheme are you in now? If it is Windows Classic, then check to make sure that the Desktop Window Manager Session Manager Service is set as Started and Automatic.

Plus, see if refreshing the WEI score may help.

Hope this helps for now,
Shawn

My Computer

Antihiatus,

You would open the Services (click on this link) window and check to make sure that the Desktop Window Manager Session Manager service is set as Started and Automatic. :)

Check your themes. It looks as though you have it set on one of the high-contrast options. Try an alternative theme.

What steps did you go through originally to make it look this way?

then transfer your user data.

To make a new Admin. Acct. follow the video on this link (except click
Administrator instead of Standard User on the Create New Account page).

Transferring your personal data may be trickier. There's an elegant and
automated way of having Windows do it for you (I've never tried it myself),
but I'm concerned that it might transfer the undesired color scheme as well.

For a non-power-user like myself I'd copy my personal shell folders to DVD,
then copy from the DVDs into the shell folders in the new account.

Best of luck.
Ardneh

Antihiatus,

If everything checks out in the new account, then sure you can if you like. :)

Only to be cautious, I'd hang on to it. You can easily delete it later.
Getting it back after it's gone is another story.
