Solved Error 1606

Recently when trying to install various programs (Dreamweaver,Quicktime) I get the message:

"Error 1606. Could not access network location\\OFFICEPC\\Disc H\\Pictures\"

Disc H and Pictures don't exist on my network. I can't install my programs.

Anyone have a fix?

have the vista home premium 32, went to that web site for a fix of 1606 clicked on 886549, down about half way is the part for vista 32, HKEY_CURRENT_USER this part was ok could make the changes, but the second part HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE wouldn't let me make any changes has any one else had this happen and how do you get around it. thank you

want to thank you for all of the info, did get my computer fixed, found out that the boot manger missing, when I tried to reformat, grandson came over, said I needed a new hard drive, so went to town purchased a new hard drive came home installed the drive, reformated and reinstalled system and all is well. thank you again, believe that the site does a lot of good.
