    Locked out of vista

    Hi all,

    On my vista home premium instalation. a ex friend of mine set a password using comand prompt net user and didnt tell me what it is.

    I am the only user on the computer
    administrator account is disabled

    Boot from your vista installation dvd and do a system restore

    Hello 037291, and welcome to Vista Forums.

    Yep, I would try a System Restore (METHOD FOUR below) first as Delphin posted. If that does not help, then you can use METHOD THREE below.

    Reset User Account Password

    Unfortuantly My Manufacturer did not give me a vista dvd. It is on a seperate Partition.

    The only option is option 3 but my comuter wond boot of it propperly

    Ophcrack does a scan to give you the password.

    What happened when you tried to boot into the other one?

    I'm not sure what you mean. Using METHOD THREE, you create a boot disc to use instead to reset your password with. You do not need your Vista installation disc.

    For some reason the disk did not burn and boot properly my disk drive is first to attempt to boot.
    What would be the size of the file when burnt onto a disk?

    I don't know the size offhand.
    It is important that these boot discs be burned as image, and not merely copied onto the disc.
