Shortcut Problems

Hello

I was wondering if someone could help me please.

I downloaded some pictures from digital camera this morning and saved them on my desktop as I always do. Viewed the pictures & all was ok.

Just gone to view the pics again and says the following:

The drive or network connection that the shortcut (then the image number) - Shortcut.Ink refers to is unavailable. Make sure that the disc is properly inserted or the network resource is available and then try again.

I have no idea what this means but deleted the pictures of the camera as I viewed them and they were fine.

Someone please help.

i dont understand your question. make sure not to take any more pictures on that memory card, and your pictures should be safe.

Question: When you were viewing your pictures earlier, was your camera still on-line? If that was the case, you probably did not save them to the desktop but only created a shortcut on the desktop that was referring to the files on the camera (that means they never got stored on your disk). If you now deleted them from the camera, they are probably gone for good. If they were never on your disk, Recuva cannot recover them either.

when you delete a file, it doesnt actually get deleted. it is "marked for deletion", so the operating system knows that when it needs some space, its ok to overwrite those files. so, if you have not taken any more pictures with that memory card, your files should still be there.
plug the camera into the computer when you run recuva. if you cant get it to work, do a google search for "file recovery".
there is one called RECOVER MY PHOTOS that i have used successfully, but its not free.
