Help Needed With Laptop

I have a Toshiba laptop that runs on Home Basic Vista. It was working fine this morning, but then when I cut it on tonight, it gets to the Microsoft loading screen. You know, the one with the little green bar? Then once it gets there, it stops. I tried to do system restore with the disc, but it kept going back to that green loading bar screen. Any suggestions?

Try going into safe mode. If you can get there, do a system restore. If that doesn't work, go into safe mode again, and do a virus scan or stuff like that. Also try defragmenting your hard disc. If nothing works, back everything up in safe mode, and reinstall your OS.

Hope this helps!

EDIT: By the way, Welcome to Vista Forums! :D

If your pc came with a recovery partition, you can also look for an option to reinstall from that.
