Hi, new to this forum here.

Gigabyte ultra durable 3
intel core 2 quad
8gb g.skill ram
evga 9800 gt
sound blaster audigy se

just put together this computer and it ran good for the first few days, now it's to the point where it won't even boot up. It first crashed on me when loading up a game, then it crashed during the middle of updating. It crashes in start up sometimes and it freezes when I'm trying to run the memory diagnostics tool. The blue screen
keeps giving me this message "Driver irql not less or equal" and I
have no idea what's wrong, can anyone help? Sorry if this is
kinda blunt I'm typing this on my phone bc now i don't have a computer to work from.

Try booting into the BIOS and change your auto video settings back to the Integrated option - Thus not rendering the GPU - then, take the GPU out and see if that solves the problem, if not, try the RAM.

Hope this helps

Try running it in safe mode. If this works then you can rule out any hardware problems.

Yeah I tried switching up the ram and it still crashed. So then I got a new harddrive thinking it was that, and it crashed on me while loading up vista again, so I sent back the mobo and ram. Hopefully it'll work when I get the replacements from newegg.

It got so bad that it even froze while in the bios :(

Look on the bright side, this can not be blamed on Vista.:)

Any luck w/ Mobo

I just finished installation of my Gigabyte EP45-UD3P mobo as well and it's giving me trouble too. Vista Home Premium 64bit loads fine but I keep getting BSOD during windows update: IRQ less than or equal too. I guess the simple solution is don't update, but that's not much of a solution. I feel like there might be driver issue here some where but I'm not sure. I was wondering if you ever resolved your problem and what you did?

It did that too me as well, I actually thought it needed to be updated and it just made it worse. I didn't pay x amount of dollars for an OS that I can't update for nothing, so I decided to send the mobo back along with the memory and try to start with a clean slate. When I get the new mobo I'll try to see if gygabyte has an update for it so I can flash the mobo before I try loading vista again.

Potential solution...

I think I may have found the problem...the issue might be on due to one of the drivers for a component on the mobo itself such as your network drivers or audio driver. I realized that both my network driver and HD audio drivers, which were included with the install cd, were bad. Both of them were Realtek drivers. I went to the Gigabyte website to update the HD audio driver and the realtek website to update the network adapter drivers. Since then I've been able to update to SP2 and most of the updates work fine. I still get a system crash when I try to do winupdate to IE8 but I can live w/o it for now. Try disabling/uninstalling drivers one at a time from control panel and then update windows to troubleshoot; I know its a pain in the ass but it might help narrow down the issue. Hope this helps.
