Hello ...


New machine with a new OS install + updates.

Intel i7 on a Gigabyte x58 UD3
6GB Patriot Ram
EVGA GTX260
Intel X25-M Solid State Drive
Plextor 880SA optical

Problem:

The machine runs perfect in every way except that VistaBus x64 has a few errors...

1. Control Panel initially opened, after some time, it wouldn't show the icons and now if I try and open it, it just blinks and nothing happens.

2. From Windows Explorer, .... trying to click on Windows Update yields nothing. It won't go to the page ... ???

3. Clicking on Start > Computer > system properties, ..... yields nothing.

*** when these things did work (just initially after install) -- the WEI was 5.9. FWIW.

Anyone with a clue about this behavior ? This isn't a personal machine and I really need to address this stuff and get it up and running for work.
