Solved Font has changed?

This occured while using Shine VS, a theme for Vista. The font never changed until now, about a week using it. Happened about 10 minutes ago. Ran CoD4, had Xfire running, Xfire in-game font appeared to be in italics, that didn't really bother me, but I was curious because it never was before. Now on Msn my arial font is in italics with no option for regular, everyone says it looks normal to them, but not to me. A few webpages are bolded now as well, and when I type into a search engine that's bold too.

Any ideas?

Hi and welcome to vistaX

dud you make any changes to shine? did you delete any font files?

Do you have a backup to restore from?

You can try a file system checker by typing cmd in search then type sfc /scannow in the command window

If that doesn't work and you have a backup before the problem started you can try a restore.

If that doesn't work and you have vista dvd you can try a repair install

Let us know how things are doing

Thank you zigzag3143. sfc sannow seems to have worked. At least I believe it has.

The story, basically: No, I didn't make any changes to the theme when I was using it. It was a simple one that you had to just double click on for it to work. Strangely enough, these things have happened in the past before. Not font changes, but Vista suddenly changing something in the registry. Like I'm still having problems with autorun, if I put in a game or DVD, the autoplay stuff won't come up. Before that it changed the balloon notifications, which apparently happens when you choose to hide things in the system tray.

But the font is normal again, I re-installed the fonts and it was still a little different looking so I did sfc scannow and it looks just fine.

Glad you are working. If the auto run is annoying you start a new thread in the right section and im sure we can fix it

Do yourself a favor. If you are fixed run a backup, it will save your skin in the future
