Lost files

Wasn't really sure which forum to post this in so if it needs moving please do so.

Basically I was working on my laptop earlier this evening moving a few files around and organising my folders when I lost a few files from a folder.

I don't know exactly what happened, I probably mashed the touch pad.

Anyway, now I can't find the files anymore :(

I've tried running a search but it has come to no avail.

How do I find my files?

If it makes any difference the files were on a memory stick.

Recuva is the program I use to undelete files.

Recuva is great didnt know it works on usb sticks.

Use recuva.

Try mine, but keep in mind these utilities have limitations - such as files that have been written over, secure deletions, etc.

If you ever lose data, you want to immediately stop using that drive except for the purpose of reclaiming your data.

not deleted just moved is a good thing. do you have indexing turned on to search the usb drive? if not it would find them by name

I'm not sure, how would I find this out. I don't think it's on the drive anyway though as I've looked in every folder, there's only 2 lol Could it be hidden though?

No... you said just moved and Ken then responded that would be a good thing. When I have recovered files they have always been in the same directory or folder they were deleted from. I'm afraid they are probably lost. Sorry.
