You can change the .url to whatever you want. I have 14 sites I start out with, I wonder how many I can add until it crashes. ( keep in mind, 14 instances of IE open ) I wish I knew how to make them all open on 1page and 14tabs. ~Carmine |

If those are your most visited sites, wouldn't it much easier just to set them as your home page with tabs instead of a batch file separate from IE? I know I'm making batch files that make things easier, but that can be done without a batch |

These batch files just simplify how you get to the tools, they log information so if you do have a problem down the road you can use that to post your system information. Also, it has some networking utilities, clean up tools, and like I said, basic Vista programs. Nothing to worry about here |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit SP2 | Re: Collection of Batch files for everyone to use! Hey crucial, here's a batch file I use at school - I learned all of this stuff as I made it, so maybe you can learn some useful things from it too. If you look at the code, I've uncommented the commands that modify the registry (so it's safe for you to run and test out). I can use this at school because they use DeepFreeze on their computers, so no matter what changes you make to the hard drive, upon restart they'll be restored. What I usually do is compile the .bat file into an .exe using Bat to Exe, I'm pretty sure someone mentioned it a few pages back. Not only does it speed up certain commands, you can give your files a cool icon, lol. Oh and just incase you don't know this already, when I first started out, I would open the Command Prompt and type 'help' to get a list of common commands. And then to learn the different flags, you can type the command name followed by '/?'. (it's kind of like the 'man' command in linux). For example, if I wanted to learn more about how to use 'if' statements in my batch files, I would type 'if /?'. There are some very useful commands that can save you a lot of time. Let's say you wanted a list of every process that's listed in Task Manager, you could open up cmd, cd to the directory you want to work in, type in 'tasklist > tasks.txt' and have the output redirected to a text file with everything formatted neatly. Sometimes when I'm very bored, I'll do a 'tree /f /a C:\', lol. Last edited by frankzappa77; 4 Weeks Ago at 12:50 AM.. |
