Boot problems Vista 32bit

Hi, I have a Dell Inspiron 530 Desktop and every now and then it won't boot up.

I get a black screen with 'Windows Boot Manager' ," Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause."

File: \Boot\BCD
Status: 0xc000000f
Info: An error occurred while attemping to read the boot config data.

When I boot the PC with the Installation disc, it repairs it and it works until the next time.

When I click on the details to see what is to be repaired, this come up:

Name: Windows Vista Home premium(recovered)
Path : Windows
Windows Device: Partition = C

Name: Windows Code name "Longhorn" preinstallation environment (recovered)
Path: Windows
Windows Device : Partition D

Please, any help would be appreciated.

Hello How4,
This is strange that this keeps happening after a start up repair.
How do you turn your PC off, have you ever done a hard shutdown, (between repairs), do you use a registry cleaner, is there any other software that you use that could cause this, any sort of system cleaners ?.
When you do the repair, is it the same file that is repaired every time ?.
Lastly, how often does this happen, and have you scanned for malware of any sort ?.
More questions than answers, lol.

Hi stoneys-nutz

I turn PC off using the normal start> shut down process.

I have not done a hard shut down.

I don't use a register cleaner or have any other cleaner software apart from Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and AVG Anti-virus.

The same files are repaired every time.

The boot up problem has occurred 7 times in the last 6 days.

I have scanned for malware and found nothing infected.

Right before you started receiving the error message, did you install anything or add any hardware?

Hi How4

Check your error logs for hardware errors.

I have looked at the event logs but not sure what errors are hardware errors ??

When I phoned dell, they tested my harddrive and it was working fine, they told me it was a software problem. My PC is only 11 months old and they would not look into it unless I paid for software support.
