Documents Shortcut got renamed!

Bayzone

New Member
Hello!
I was trying to save a file in Adobe Reader, but typed the filename too fast before the "save as" dialogue box was fully loaded. As you can see below, my stupid document folder got renamed instead to "A". I've been searching and searching, but can't find a way to rename it back to my original username.
Clicking on it still gets me to c:\users\bayzone\ which is good.

Any idea how to solve it?

Hi Guys,

eh. I tried the above methods and they dont work. I have all my document folders and the registry settings are correct. Also, i can't rename it.

See the picture above.
It seems like the problem is that the label "Bayzone" has been renamed to "A". Any idea where I can find this entry in my registry?

now i cannot see "c:\users\bayzone" in explorer, but when i click on c:\users\documents", i am taken to the the "bayzone" folder.
The c:\users\

So irritating. It happened to me before last year, but i searched the web and found a solution using some registry fix. Can't seem to find it again.

Bayzone,

As a test, create a new administrator account to see if all is ok in it. If so, then you can just copy the contents of your old account's user folders into the new account's corresponding user folders. If all checks out ok, you can delete the old account from within the new one. :)

ok. the interesting thing is that i just updated to windows 7 and the A label still stuck.
I'll see if it's as irritating as it was in vista. if so then i'll move accounts. :)
