Restore Factory Settings

I have an Acer Aspire 7730 laptop
ever since lastweek it's alot slower than usual
i've been thinking about restoring it to factory settings for a while now
i've done it to one of my other laptops 3 times
mainly because it's my dad and that laptop is old and gets slow very fast
it only has a 1GB memory so it sucks :P
I want to restore my acer aspire but there's one problem
I keep all my music and pictures on my D drive and not the default C drive
this is because my C drive eats its own space so I kept my personal stuff on my D drive but now that I want to restore it to factory settings
if I leave my personal stuff on that drive will they be wiped?
should I move them all back to my C drive and then factory reset it
and also is it Alt+F10 I want to make sure there's not much information about this on the internet for this laptop, I don't need to worry about programs because I know where to download them all again i'm just worried about my pictures which can't be replaced and all my music which I can't get back.
you can get all the information underneath here about my laptop
thankyou
I did try and system restore it but for some reason there's no shadow system restore copies on my laptop
there was a few days ago but there's non atall now
this is the first time it's ever done this.

Honestly if there is anything that you cant afford to lose then back it up to cd/dvd/external drive.

I wouldn't imagine that the d drive would be touched but you can never guess what goes through the minds of some system manufactures when they set systems up.

Good point I think I may move it all back to my C drive
you never know what system manufactures do when it comes to factory resetting
i'm going to find my DVD discs and start backing all my music and pictures :)
