Hi all,

I created a .net application.DB using sql server express 2008.After installing in xp database can be accessed. But in vista its showing error message as "DATABASE is readonly".

Can't insert any data to it. DB properties->Readonly->True

After installing on client machine DB ->readonly property is true, can't chnage to false
It shows error as

"Unable to open the physical file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Outlook\DB.mdf". Operating system error 5: "5(Access is denied.)"."
Database 'DB' cannot be opened due to inaccessible files or insufficient memory or disk space. See the SQL Server errorlog for details.

How to access database in vista?Anyone provide a solution for this.

Thanks

"Access is denied" sounds like a permissions problem. I'm not familiar enough with those to help. Someone will be along with more detail.

It's been a little while, but it sounds like it's a permissions issue not allowing the app to write info to a file it needs. I am not sure what you are working with, but if you have a file that neededs permissions changed, you can use a FTP client to chmod 777 the file to allow read, write, and execute permissions.
