Vista - Reinstall Vista

I reinstalled Vista over the original operating system and then found I had lost my registration code to my ms office home and student 2007. I've heard of Belarc but the new system is in effect now. I did ask to have the old saved but don't have enough techie to know if I can access it to get the reg code for my ms suite. Help..Thanks

The serial number is likely to be in the Software hive.

Open Regedit > File Menu > 'Load hive'.

Browse to Windows.Old\System32\Config\Software and have a look.

It should have come with your office installation disk.

When I downloaded PCregdit it went into winzip and like i said i'm not that technical. What should I look into or do>

Also I did get a jacket for the ms office home student 2007 but was living in VA and moved after I initially used it. Carelessly put the disc in a Dell leather case and lost the box with the registry numbers...the reason im asking how to recover ...

-Interesting to see if that can find the key. It is no longer installed - it is in the Windows.old folder.

-You downloaded an .iso file. Burn it to cd as an image - not as data. Boot the cd.
