Hello all,
New Vista user & poster.
I have a laptop with Vista Home Premium X64 on it. The Quick Launch bar was missing so I followed this advice:
>>1. In an empty space in the Taskbar, right-click.
>>2. Select Toolbars, New Toolbar.
>>3. In the Folder text box, type: %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet >>Explorer\Quick Launch
>>4. Click Select Folder.
>>5. The Quick Launch toolbar displays in the taskbar.
>>
>>To modify the Quick Launch toolbar properties, unlock the taskbar, right-click the Quick >>Launch toolbar title. Change any of the toolbar properties.
It Did give me back the QL bar but it is spaced away from the far left 'Start' icon and it will NOT move back to the left any additional amount. It is almost like there is something there but when I start any pgm - its taskbar 'button' goes in between the Start icon and the QL bar icons. It is reversed from how it shud be - with the Start icon, then the QL bar icons, then the open pgms buttons! Also, when I right clik on the Taskbar - Toolbars, it shows 2 QL toolbars with only one checked, when I unchecked the one to see what would happen - the QL bar was gone again!!
Also, there is a desktop.ini folder on the Desktop whose properties show it as "Hidden", it has in it [.shellclassinfo] localizedResourceName=@%systemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll, -21799
I have no idea what it is and why it just showed up on my Desktop.
I can Not do a 'system restore' as it had been turned off, but now I have it back on - yeah, AFTER the horse left the barn!!
I just want to get my QL bar back for good and make everything right!
Can someone please help me?
Thank you very much!
Sincerely,
Cindy
