Hi and welcome

Stuck in safe mode. do you mean the F8 safe mode? i am really not trying to be dense. do you have the vista dvd or restore dvd that came with the computer?

Can you put it in the dvd player? then reboot. it should boot from the dvd. if it does can you get to your usual log on screen?

couple of other things we are going to need to know
Do you have any backups that we can retore from? you would have had to set it up when you first got the computer.

Is there any data on the HD that you really need?

let us know the answers

Ken

Hi, Annie.

Try clicking the Start menu button, and in the search box type "msconfig" and click msconfig that appears. You should see the Startup Selection options. Make sure Selective Startup is selected. If it isn't, click Selective Startup and select "Load system services" and "Load startup items". And it should work.
