BootMGR missing

Hello, first time post.

I was recently pationing my friends toshbia Salitle laptop (P05-S6177) but something went wrong it could not find a file so we canceld it now i have a error message saying BOOTMGR is missing.

Things ive tried
Bootrec.exe
including /bootfix
/rebuildbcd
i downloaded vista recovery cds tryed doing autmatic repairs none of these are working
And also vista came reinstalled so i do not have the serial key to reinstall it im really confused some help would really make my day! :D

What were you partitioning it with?

What file file couldn't it find?

It is likely that bootmgr is still where it always was - but windows isn't looking in the right place.

The partition containing bootmgr needs to be marked Active.

Try the free Partition Wizard boot disc. ( d/l the PW .iso , burn to cd-r with isoburner - do not format the cd).

Partition Wizard Bootable CD allows user to boot computer directly to manage partition.

Boot the PW cd , when it asks about screen resolution,make sure NUM LOCK is on, then press1 , then press Enter.

Rt click the Vista partition, select Modify>Set as Active, click Apply.

When i tried to partition with the cd which came with it i got a error named 0x800703EE

You need to give us some info. It is not working is meaningless.

What do you see when PW is booted. Does it show partitions? What does it list them as , e.g. Primary, Logical, ntfs, Active, System , Boot?

Operating system is Windows vista 32x When i tryed to activate the parition nothing happened same old same old when i boot it i just get the same error mess my hardrives are primary


While running this before it went to the pw wizard screen i payed attenition and it came up with a few error messages including error messg 16 and 22


computers specs

Toshiba Satellite P105-S6177 Core Duo 1.73GHz, 2GB RAM, 120GB HDD, Vista Home Premium

If i missed something out please tell me.
