I have a compaq presario SR5310F w/ vista home premium 32 bit 08 model. Was working perfectly for two days after being stored 18 months. suddenly it now boots up to a green tint screen with faint, hardly readable characters. No clue as to why. HELP!!!

That happened to my computer. Check the monitor VGA plug (or whichever plug from your monitor to desktop). Push it in. Try a different cable.
If that doesn't work, reinstall the graphics driver from here:
COMPAQ Presario SR5310F Intel Express Graphics Drivers

Good luck,

hello
sorry nothing seems to be working for you. but I don't think it's vista, it seems graphic related. one last thing to try..go back to device manager and uninstall the monitor, reboot and let windows reinstall it. (automatic)

good luck

PS: go to control panel > color management & see if you monitor is listed there.

*edit* 1 more thing try right click on desktop > graphics see if theres anything there to help you out..
